Having taken measures to become 95 percent self-sufficient in grain consumption over the next 12 years, China’s agriculture trade is expected to sustain continued growth.
As organizers said, because of such growing productivity, the China Agriculture Trade Fair (CATF), the largest farm products show in China, will also have a bright future. At an executive meeting, the State Council has agreed to ensure that, by 2020, grain output reaches 540 billion kg.
It will bring a result that trade in agriculture will become more diverse in variety and in regional distribution, said planners.
While demand for more varieties of agricultural products is expected to bring about prosperous trading in produce, fruit, fish, and animal husbandry, the nation will boost its harvest through upgrading farming technology.
Growing demand for variety will benefit the CATF that it will give the CATF fertile grounds for growth.
It is estimated that around 300,000 people will visit the Sixth CATF in Beijing running from October 15 to 19. Not only attracting exhibitors from most continents, the fair will also include a technical seminar and an international buyer program to help purchasers from foreign countries.
