China Trade Show Guide

Two important trade shows were staged by Deutsche Messe from Oct 27 to Oct 30 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC): PTC ASIA and CeMAT ASIA.

PTC AISA is the second largest trade fair in the world for power transmission and control, as well as for compressors, compressed air and vacuum technology. This year, around 1,300 exhibitors from 28 countries presented innovative power transmission and control technology on a display of approximately 58,000 sq m. the focus was on energy efficiency and improving lifecycle costs.

CeMAT ASIA provides an arena for all products directly related to intra-logistic (materials handling and logistics). The range of the major display categories at Asia’s most important trade fair for intra-logistics is from industrial trucks, cranes and lifting equipment to handling equipment, storage systems, loading equipment, software and technology for every aspect of handling.

More than 380 exhibitors attended CeMAT AISA and they occupied a gross display area of approximately 23,000 sq m. the exhibitors included the big manufacturers of forklift trucks such as Linde, Toyota, Jungheinrich, Komatsu, Heli and Boli, forklift equipment suppliers and manufacturers Cascade and Kaup, handling equipment manufacturers Beumer and Knapp, crane suppiers ABUS, Demag and Kito, as well as suppliers of warehouse technology such as Dexion, Hanel, Kardex, OTL and SSI Schafer.

Leading international fairs
Since 1991 Deutsche Messe has been organizing its own trade fairs outside Germany through its subsidiary companies. The main target markets have been China, Southeast Asia, Australia, India, the Gulf region, Turkey, the United States and Brazil.

We have been purchasing to establish the leading international fairs under the HANNOVER MESSE umbrella on foreign markets since the start of the new millennium, and we have been done that successfully. Many exhibitors trust us and believe us we will offer the same and consistent quality wherever we operate, so they have taken part in our events in Hannover.

PTC AISA was one of the first trade shows that we organized with Chinese partners. It has developed well and we value their reliability and expect continued growth from both events.

Trade fairs always reflect the state of industrial development in the country where they take place. Today, the demand of China for the kind of modern technology exhibited at our event is huge. What is more, China has moved from an importer to a manufacturer of power transmission and control technology.

According to the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), Germany tops the list of exporters in the world power transmission sector with a 26 percent share of the market, followed by Japan (11.8 percent), Italy (8.2 percent), the United States (7.4 percent) and China (7.1 percent).

As demand for improved logistics and cutting-edge logistics systems continue to grow in China, there is the same demand for high-performance plant. China is ready to improve efficiency in terms of order picking, quicker material throughput, shorter process times and production runs.

Supporting programs
Trade shows are not simply about exhibiting products. We develop a new supporting program every year, along with special events and presentations, so that attendees can get maximum benefit from their visit.

This year saw the debut of the special Automated Guided Vehicles Pavilion at CeMAT ASIA, where exhibitors showed the very latest transport system which include reliability and flexibility, or the adaptability of such systems to varying and sometimes difficult conditions. The trade show was accompanied by the Congress & ICT for the first time, which took place on October 28 and 29. Top experts have spoken on special branch-related solutions, such as tobacco, pharmaceutical, innovative IT and logistics.

About 250 top ranked attendees with expert knowledge and a savvy in logistics and ICT came to the two-day congress from all over the world. Conceived and organized with our partners, the congress provided a forum for discussion that complements and extends the content of our trade shows.
