China Trade Show Guide

The trade fair held by leading construction machinery Asia exhibition organizer bauma China, which began on Nov 25, will end tomorrow in Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This year’s show attracts 1,600 exhibitors from 31 countries to present their products and services, including pavilions by exhibitor groups from Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Italy, Spain, South Korea and for the first time, Romania.

Germany
The German national pavilion this year is organized and supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry and the German Construction Equipment and Building Material Machinery Manufacturers Association.

Machinery manufacturing, especially for the construction industry, is an important sector of the German economy that has cooperated with China for many decades.

As the home of bauma, Germany has been bending national groups to bauma China since the first event in China in 2002.

The German again displays its cutting-edge design and professionalism in the show.

United States
The US group first participated in bauma China in 2004. This year more than 80 US companies will appear, which is an increase of 33%.

The small and medium sized US companies and those new to the global market include a large part of their entrants. 10 of the total 80 companies occupy 250 sq m of indoor space, which is a 127% expansion, compared with last year.

South Korea
The Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, which owns 172 corporate members include important international players such as Doosan, Hyundai and Volvo (Korea) has helped a lot in promoting international trade and market development since it established in 1994.

The association organized a national pavilion at the first bauma China in 2002. This is the fourth time Korea participates the show. This time, the Korean organization has a pavilion housing 22 exhibitors with over 426 sq m of display space.

Spain
The first Spanish pavilion was organized in bauma China by the Spanish Manufacturers Association of Construction and Mining Equipment in 2004.

Since China is the biggest construction machinery market in the world, the association views the show as the most important in Asia for the Industry. So, this year, the group which has grown to 22 members sends 16 association members and 11 for the first time to participate the show.

Finland
The Finnish pavilion appeared in bauma China for the first time in 2002. Six years later, 10 exhibitors from the nation will participate, of which three have never attended before. The group was organized by Enter Marketing before 2006, a subsidiary of Finpro and now a private company.

According to a spokesman form Enter Marketing, they consider the event of a particularly important one for accessing Asian markets like Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore and Vietnam.

Finnish participants include Allu Group, Dynaset, Robit Rocktool, Junttan, Tamtron, Sampo Hydraulics, Tecwill, Ramtec, Normet and Ruukki.

Romania
Romania’s first attending in bauma China is organized by the Romanian Ministry for Small and Medium-Sized Company Trade, its Tourism and Liberal Professions, the Romanian Trade Promotion Center and the Fepa-Cm-Employer’s Association For Machine Building Industry.

The construction machinery industry weighs much in Romania’s economy. So the Romanian government and private enterprises have vowed to cooperate with local enterprises in China to get further development.

The Italian and UK pavilions house 35 and 12 companies respectively, with exhibitors showing products in 23 categories.
