A total of 240 countries and organizations have now committed to the biggest-ever held World Expo, which will be held between May and October, including the United States. As the last major country to join the event, US signed up on July 10 for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, according to official report.
US tore all the speculation into pieces and put minds at ease by saying, it will be there. Cheng Gang, who is the president of the Suzhou International Expo Center, pointed out that the World Expo which will be held in Shanghai in 2010 would be an important event in the national exposition industry and a great chance for local exposition industry of Suzhou to show.
Wu Bangguo, chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, put into motion the Shanghai World Expo kicks off on May 1 when the clock marking the dwindling days. Wu said it is “a big aspiration for all Chinese people”, and the government would exert every effort to prepare for the gala on the same day next year.
