US commits to join 2010 Shanghai Expo

shiboshiboA total of 240 countries and organizations have now committed to the biggest-ever held World Expo, which will be held between May and October, including the United States. As the last major country to join the event, US signed up on July 10 for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, according to official report.

US tore all the speculation into pieces and put minds at ease by saying, it will be there. Although the uncertainty followed reports that the US team wanting to take part in the exposition in May was struggling with a lack of funding, Jose Villarrel, US Commissioner General for the 2010 Expo said, (more…)

Suzhou’s exposition industry stimulates its economic development

Shanghai Expo comes to its countdown

shibohuiWu Bangguo, chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, put into motion the Shanghai World Expo kicks off on May 1 when the clock marking the dwindling days. Wu said it is “a big aspiration for all Chinese people”, and the government would exert every effort to prepare for the gala on the same day next year.

Beijing once struted behind New York in the international catwalk circuit and now like New Year is facing the same economic crisis, though China’s fashion circle is not as influenced by the recession as those in the foreign countries. So the main theme of this year’s China Fashion Week was simplicity. Most of the dresses were one-piece concoction with straight cuts, cold and simple colors.
